Bronwyn Michaelis is a licensed primary care provider, acupuncturist, herbalist, Faculty at the Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine College, Reiki, Yoga, and bodywork instructor, and founder-director of Holistic Medical Arts in Berkeley, California. Trained in traditional healing practices from around the world and expert in numerous forms of yoga, Bronwyn’s methodology integrates an advanced knowledge of human anatomy and physiological processes for optimizing vitality and unfolding the mind-body’s latent potential.

• Treating a diverse population of the Bay Area with integrative medicine including
acupuncture, herbs, moxibustion, nutrition, Traditional Chinese Medicine and
bodywork such as chi-nei-tsang, Rosen Method, shiatsu, tui-na, and Reiki.
• Patients challenges include: depression, chronic pain, gynecological health,
psychiatric disorders, physical decline, side effects of cancer treatment, HIV,
orthopedic concerns, constipation, IBS, eating disorders, nausea, anxiety, fertility
challenges, and addictions.

• The school offers comprehensive training in all aspects of Reiki from beginning
level to Master Level classes as well as training in Traditional Asian Medicine,
esoteric anatomy, auras, chakras, crystals, toning, clinical aromatherapy, and
ReikiYoga.
• Classes include traditional Usui Reiki and Japanese Reiki Techniques and are
grounded in a background of functional medicine and Asian medicine.

• Facilitating an ongoing community Reiki share group in Berkeley since 1999 where
students and professionals regularly gather.
• Supervision of a clinic apprenticeship program at Holistic Medical Arts where

retreats with Rare Journeys (national geographic explorer Ian Baker) in Tibet.

International Experience
Bronwyn, originally from South Africa, has lived, worked, and studied all over the
world and reads and writes Hindi, Hebrew, and Spanish. She has traveled
extensively in Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Middle east, and a fair amount in Central
and South America. Her international experience allows her to work with people
from diverse backgrounds and integrate a deep understanding of many healing arts.
These travels have inspired in her a deep caring for the earth, sustainable living, and
humanitarian needs.
